Condition and authenticity
Secondhand and vintage hats vary. This page explains how we describe items and what you can expect when shopping at Ink Play Hats.
One-of-a-kind inventory
Every listing is a single physical hat. We do not restock the same SKU. Photos and descriptions apply to that item only, at the time of listing.
Condition
We describe visible wear honestly in each listing — fading, stains, creasing, patch wear, mesh discoloration, and similar details when present. Condition varies by piece. Open the item modal on the store for photos and notes before you buy. If the hat doesn't have a tag on it, expect some minor defect. We dust and lint roll every hat, and wash hats as needed; usually by hand. We use a small amount of gentle laundry soap and vinegar cleaner when cleaning by hand.
What we verify
We handle and inspect hats in person before listing. We check that the item matches our description, note obvious flaws, and list only inventory we are willing to stand behind.
What we do not claim unless stated
- Official licensing for teams, leagues, colleges, or brands — unless clearly stated and you are confident in the claim
- Exact production year — we may describe era or style; precise dating is noted only when known
- Guaranteed future availability of a style — themes reflect what we commonly carry, not a fixed catalog
